Encouraging Facebook Status

How many of you are on Facebook?? I love Facebook. In fact, add me -- would love to see you there! Amy King in Memphis, btw.
Anyway, you know how you can update your statuses from time to time. Well, a friend of mine put this on her status today. She is a professor at a college near Chicago.
This touched my heart......
"Today I am grateful for D. Smith, a student of mine. He is 23, living in a shelter with his wife and child. He brings his son's toys in his backpack to school with him every day because they keep getting stolen at the shelter. He is in college attempting to make a better life for him and his family. D. Smith has touched my life and I am grateful to be able to help him realize his dreams."
How impressive! I truly hope that D. Smith works hard and gets far in life.

Overdue Hello

Hello, Howdy, Hey!!!!

I am here and I am still alive and kicking. - not very high but I am still kicking.
Things are fine here. Some of you have emailed me and asked about my whereabouts and I could just hug your neck because of your concern. THANK YOU!! :)
As many of you know, I have started my own Mary Kay business. I am loving it.- Truly, loving it.
I get to meet some great ladies, earn some great prizes AND get to play with make-up. What's not to love, right?
Anyway, things are going well there. I am still homeschooling and finding the time to sit down and write something clever just isn't/hasn't happened lately.
Hope all is well and you have not forgotten about this little TN gal. I will be sure to make my rounds to your blogs very soon.
BIG TN hugs to all!

Laughter- It Does The Body Good

Laughter is definitely good medicine, isn't it? I saw this little movie clip and after my stomach stopped hurting (from laughter), I felt pretty darn good!!
So, I had to pass this along. Enjoy!

Unwanted Houseguest

I was cleaning up a little bit one day last week. I noticed that popcorn was on the floor. I knew that Bailey had some as a snack but thought she just dropped a piece or two.

I went on into the next room and sure enough, a few pieces were dropped in there too. Ugh! Bailey!!

I went back into the kitchen and finished cleaning up in there. I turned around at just the right time.

There was Bailey dropping kernels of popcorn on the floor. "Bailey!! What are you doing?"

"Mama, that little mouse has got to eat too."
No wonder I can't catch that sneaky thing. He and Bailey have some sort of a pact going on.

Yakity Yak and More Goals

Wow! I just noticed that it has been awhile since I posted. I have not visited any of your blogs either. SORRY! I will eat one less doughnut as part of my punishment.
Actually, you would be proud. I have been eating healthier and doing better with the "numerous meals a day" plan. It takes some adjustment but I do believe it's working. I have my mom on it now, as well. She is losing weight like there is no tomorrow! Go, mom! The exercises are helping too, I think. Ok... Go, me!
Who watches The Biggest Loser? I am becoming a super fan of this show. I am not normally on the reality TV wagon. But this show??? Yep, I am thinking about starting or joining a fan club or something. Not really but it's truly a good show. And since I am coming clean... I bawl like a baby. I am like a proud mother when they step on those scales. *sniff*
In other news, did I tell you that my husband bought me a bouquet of FALL flowers? Well, I guess I haven't since I haven't posted in a week. Anyway, I just wanted to brag about my darling other. They were beautiful and the best part.... it was JUST BECAUSE! :) Love you, babe.

On to the goals...
Setting the goals have been pretty productive for me. It's almost like this blog has become my accountability. It's craziness, I know.
Here we go....
1. Bailey and Brandon are getting new beds this week. I need to THOROUGHLY clean their rooms and get the new beds moved in.
2. Clean my ceiling fans. The dust on them is probably an inch thick. This is such a nasty job.
3. Make and send someone a THANK YOU note because they graciously gave me their older digital camera. It's fantastic. I'm so happy that I get to capture those Kodak (or Canon, in this case) moments again. :)

Goals

Goals this week are:

1. To catch the mouse that is running free in my kitchen! Argh... he is way too sneaky!

2. Since it's been a tad too cool to run outside, I have started a new work-out routine inside. My goal is to do this 4 nights a week.

3. Get all tax and paperwork organized.

Let me leave ya with a quote I ran across this week. I wrote it down and thought it was worth sharing.

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." -- Author Unknown

Bailey is learning her ABC's. She is doing great and this mama is super proud.
I asked her to say her ABC's for her daddy today. This was her little "diddy". (Sing it as the ABC song".

My Randomness

This has been one crazy week. It's been a good week, mind you. But I definitely will categorize it in the crazy file.
Several of you have asked about my new eating regimen. --You know, the several meals throughout the day vs. the normal 3 meals. It's going pretty well... till about 9:00 P.M. I think what hurts me is that I am a night owl. I stay up till 1:00ish A.M most of the time and I get the munchies. I just grab the Fiber One bar (refer to post below) and chalk it up as "another small meal". So, not sure if it's doing more harm than good. Maybe I will give it more time.

I have a new blog crush. Actually, it is any blog about running. They inspire me!! I have noticed that many runners eat oatmeal. Are you a fan of oatmeal? I can NOT stand the stuff. It looks really good. In fact, it looks mouth-watering good when you put granola or some type of fruit in it. But I just can't stand the texture of it once it hits my tongue. I will stick to the oatmeal raisin cookies, thank you.

In other news... I actually watched one night of Dancing With The Stars this week. I am not normally on the wagon of reality shows but I watched it with my mom. It was the night that the girls danced. It was pretty good and the girls impressed me. Although, I have to admit the green monster of jealousy kicked in a little. I yearn to have a flat stomach. Darn that protruding c-section scar... those days are long gone.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Depression medicine

I know. I am posting twice in one day. Don't get use to it.
I had to share this video tho. When life gets ya down and you are a little mopey, you must refer back to said video.

Another Addiction

Dear Oats & Chocolate Fiber One Bars,

Please leave me alone.

Your chocolatey goodness is delicious and nutritious... but only when used sparingly. And as of late, it has not been used sparingly. Darn those coupons!

Every time I buy a box, they are gone within two days. I can't stop myself.

Your label should say : Beware. Too delicious to try.

Your biggest (figuratively and soon to be literally) fan,
